Russell (Frank Russell) has selected London-based Thames River Capital to manage three assignments within its manager-of-managers funds.

The assignments were completed as part of Russell’s multi-manager investment process, which seeks to emphasise investment skill while providing broad diversification in over 160 funds.

Specifically, Thames River Capital has been hired for assignments in the FRIC Continental European Equity fund (total AUM approx. US$1,200 million), FRIC II Pan European Equity fund (total AUM approx. US$130 million) and the MSMM Pan European Equity fund (total AUM approx. US$700 million).

Thames River joins four other managers in the Continental European Equity fund and five other managers in the two Pan European Equity funds, all three of which are available to European investors.

Kathy Nevin, Portfolio Manager at Russell, said: ”The addition of Thames River Capital will bring new sources of excess return to the funds. The funds’ ability to add value is significantly strengthened by the addition of this excellent investment team, headed by Tony Zucker, whom we rate very highly within the European Equity investment industry.”

Thames River Capital is a relatively new name in the investment management industry, as the firm was founded in 1998. The company brings together a group of well-regarded investment professionals from top European firms.
