BNP Paribas in new fund launch mode

The new launches will include long short equities funds. The Paris-based manager already manages USD 15 billion in alternative and structured investments and recently launched three new hedge funds:

* SingleHedge Market Neutral, Irish domiciled;
* SingleHedge Global Macro, French domiciled;
* SingleHedge Trend Fund, also French domiciled.

These funds are managed out of Paris by a specialised team, which already has a 6-year experience in managing those strategies, relying on a strong in-house quantitative research capacity.

These three new products are targeting 10%-15% return with 5% to 10% volatility. They have been designed to fit the needs of European-based qualified investors, and specifically French investors through the onshore funds.BNP Paribas Asset Management is pursuing its ambitious development plan in the alternative arena with several launches planned for the first quarter of 2004.
