DrKW boosts London hedge fund sales force

Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DrKW) has strengthened its London-based Hedge Fund Sales team with a number of appointments.


Angela Osborne, Global Hedge Fund Sales Coordinator, said: “Taken together these hires represent a significant strengthening of our platform focusing on the hedge fund community and are a sign of our commitment to this growing and important client base.”


The following all join at Director level and will be based in London:


Liquid Markets: Ville Niiranen and Shailen Popat are joining DrKW’s Liquid Market Sales Group. Ville rejoins the bank, having previously worked within the same group before leaving for BNP Paribas last year. Shailen joins in May from Societe Generale with 11 years’ experience in both trading and sales. Both will report to Angela Osborne and Charles Matterson, European Head of Liquid Product Sales.


Foreign Exchange: Roger Allen recently joined the bank as Head of FX Hedge Fund Sales. He was previously at AIG and brings over 20 years’ FX experience, including 14 years of working with hedge funds. He reports to Christian Exshaw, European Head of FX Sales.


Equities Absolute Return Group:  Matthew Tricks and Clive Emery are due to join DrKW in May. Matt rejoins the bank following a short spell at CSFB and Clive joins from Merrill Lynch. Both will report to David Cooke, Head of Hedge Fund Sales for Equities.


Equity Derivatives: Sophie Granchi will join DrKW’s Equity Derivatives Flow Sales Group in May with a brief to target hedge fund clients. For the last three years she was head of the Listed Equity Derivative Desk at BNP Paribas where her focus was primarily on hedge funds. Sophie will report to Zach Tuckwell, Managing Director, European Flow Derivatives Sales.
