Matrix launches structured product based on Winton Futures Fund

London-based Matrix Group has launched a structured product designed to provide 100% of the performance of Winton Capital's Trading Strategies Fund.

The Winton Trading Strategies Fund is run identically to the Winton Futures Fund, which has generated annualised returns of 21.0% from launch in October 1997 to end March 2004. This compares to annualised returns from the FTSE 100 of 0.28%.

The fund is also designed to protect 100% of the amount subscribed (other than the 4% initial charge deducted at launch) if held for seven years.

Matrix stated: "The Winton Futures Fund has shown almost no correlation to equities and a very low correlation to gilts. This should ensure overall reduced portfolio risk when adding this product to a portfolio of equities and gilts. Furthermore, Winton benefits from being able to generate profits in both rising and falling markets."

Minimum investment in the Matrix Ascension Plan is GBP 5,000 and the offer is closing on 30 June 2004.
