Schroders has recruited research analysts Naveed Chaudhry and Jean-Pierre du Plessis to join its London-based fund of hedge funds business.

Chaudhary and du Plessis have joined to work alongside John Parkin, Chief Investment Officer of the Fund of Hedge Funds business.

Naveed Chaudhry previously worked at Lombard Odier where he was Investment Manager for the Institutional Fixed Income product, prior to which he was with State Street Bank & Trust.

Jean-Pierre du Plessis joins from Standard & Poor's where he was Head of International Fixed Income evaluation.  Before joining Standard & Poor's Jean-Pierre was a Propriety Bond Trader at WestLB.

Schroders Fund of Hedge Funds business has over USD 1 billion under management invested in 3 strategies:

* Diversified portfolios (which aims to achieve absolute returns of c.6-9% per annum with low correlation to traditional equity benchmarks)

* Global Long/Short Equity portfolios (which seeks returns in line with global equity indices but with limited correlation to and lower risk than listed equity markets)

* Concentrated portfolios (a fund of hedge funds which aims to achieve high returns under all equity market conditions).
