BNP Paribas develops "high alpha" bond management
BNP Paribas Asset Management is looking to develop its "high alpha" bond management activity with the appointment of Nicolas Chaput.
BNP Paribas already has a recognised presence on the European bond markets in the domain of "core investment grade" investments. In order to fulfil a growing demand for high yield products, the company has chosen to implement an ambitious development plan in the field of "high alpha" investments, which includes high yield, asset backed and structured products.
Chaput, 42, joined BNP Paribas Asset Management in mid-April after 17 years at Crédit Lyonnais/Calyon in Paris, London and New York. Over the last 10 years in particular, he has been in charge of the sale and research, and the origination and structuring of credit products, as well as proprietary investments.
Background notes: BNP Paribas Asset Management is a major player in fund management and distribution in Europe with EUR 196.3 billion in assets under management as of 31 December 2004.
