HSBC Securities Services has come top in a global survey of the world's best regional and country sub-custodians.


The survey results were part of Global Finance magazine's third annual industry rankings which placed HSBC in the lead position in a number of key categories, including best in United Kingdom, Asia and the Middle-East. HSBC came top in the following regions/countries:


• Regional Winner: Asia, Middle East, Caribbean
• Country Winner: Argentina, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE, UK


The poll took place in eight regions and 35 countries. Winners were picked from those institutions that reliably provide the best custody services in local markets and regions to global custodians.


Criteria included: customer relations, quality of service, competitive pricing, smooth handling of exception items, technology platforms, post settlement operations, business continuity plans and knowledge of local regulations.
