Asset Alliance International has hired Brynjar Agnarsson as Associate Director of Marketing for the Nordic and Benelux Regions.
Agnarsson, an Icelandic national, will be responsible for marketing Asset Alliance's single and multi-strategy funds in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, The Netherlands, Luxembourg and Belgium. He reports to James Parker, Managing Director and Head of Asset Alliance International.
"These are vital regions for us as we continue to tap into promising new markets," said James Parker. "Brynjar has proven hands-on experience in successfully marketing hedge fund investments to sophisticated investors in Scandinavia and we are delighted to have him on board."
Agnarsson, fluent in Icelandic, Danish, Norwegian and Swedish, brings several years of alternative investments and financial marketing experience to his new role. He was most recently Head of Institutional Sales at Hedge Fund Marketing Ltd, where he marketed and secured mandates for fund-of-funds, and was instrumental in positioning the firm's marketing operations to access Scandinavian investors.
Prior to this, Agnarsson, who received a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Development Studies at the University of London, was at Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia in London, where he brokered emerging market hedge funds and closed-end funds to Scandinavian investors.
