Gérard Maarek has been appointed Senior Economic Adviser to EDHEC, working in the group’s new economic research centre.


Maarek, a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and a former student at ENSAE, will advise EDHEC on the orientation of its research work in economics and will participate in validating the results of its research teams’ projects.


He has past experience as an economist in both the private and public sectors in France. From 1992 to 2000, he was in charge of research studies in banking and economics with the Caisse Nationale de Crédit Agricole. He is the author of several publications and administrative reports in France – notably ‘La dette, le boom, la crise’, co-author, 1985 (Eng. ‘Debt, boom, crisis’), ‘Economie de l’enlisement’, 1997, Economica, (Eng. ‘The bogged down economy’) and ‘Macroéconomie et gestion d’actifs’, 2003, Economica, (Eng. ‘Macroeconomics and asset management’).
