Octane Management (BVI) Limited has appointed Torrey Associates LLC as the investment advisor to a predominantly long-short equity fund of funds mandate. 

Octane Management (BVI) Limited tailors hedge fund of fund products for its institutional investor base by combining funds of funds with single strategy funds. Octane has a number of sophisticated "building blocks" that represent investment mandates with highly experienced investment professionals. These boutique funds are well established, have proven track records, typically have significant personal investment in the funds that they manage and therefore have their interests aligned with their clients. Unique solutions are designed by combining these diverse mandates thereby ensuring that each Octane client is managed independently. Octane’s assets under management now exceed USD 1.3bil.

‘Torrey is a well established fund of funds with over fifteen years experience in allocating to hedge funds, and a wealth of knowledge and contacts,’ says Lara Price, head of research at Octane Research. ‘They will be managing a separate account for us that will focus on predominantly non-US long/short equity managers investing in publicly traded securities.’
