Matthias Siller is joining Barings from Raiffeisen Capital Management, an Austrian investment management company with highly rated EMEA products.

Siller will report to Dr Ghadir Abu Leil-Cooper Head of Emerging Europe Equities, and will be responsible for the Baring EMEA Absolute Return Fund.

Siller has nine years' experience on both the buy and sell sides, including proprietary trading Central & Eastern European equities and derivatives. Prior to joining Raiffeisen, he was EMEA Equities portfolio manager at Bawag - PSK Invest.  He will join Barings this autumn.

The appointment follows the announcement earlier this week that James Syme, formerly of SG Asset Management, is to join Barings as Head of Global Emerging Market portfolios.
