Eurex has connected its first member firm, Transmarket Group Pte Limited, directly to its Singapore telecommunications hub.
Eurex has connected its first member firm, Transmarket Group Pte Limited, directly to its Singapore telecommunications hub.
Transmarket Group Pte Limited began trading from the telecommunications hub on 4 August. Eurex stated that two additional firms are currently in the connection process.
The Eurex telecommunications hub in Singapore offers members direct access to Eurex’s highly liquid benchmark product range. All Eurex products are eligible for trading in Singapore. Prior to regulatory approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, access to Eurex from Singapore was only possible via intermediaries or foreign subsidiaries.
Andreas Preuss, CEO of Eurex, said: ‘Eurex is aware of the strategic importance of the Asian markets, and we are pleased to be able to offer our members, such as Transmarket Group, direct and cost efficient access to our highly liquid products.’
He added: ‘Our new hub, powered by Deutsche Börse Systems, will increase trading opportunities for traders in Singapore and allow us to further improve our service in the Asia-Pacific region.’
Eurex currently has approximately 400 members in 19 countries
