STOXX changes composition of European benchmark indexes

STOXX Ltd has changed the composition of its European benchmark indexes as part of its regular quarterly review process.

The indexes affected are: the Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 Index; the Dow Jones STOXX Total Market Index; the Dow Jones STOXX 600 Index and its sector indexes; the Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged Total Market Index and the Dow Jones STOXX Football Index.

Effective with the open of European markets on September 18, 2006 the following ten stocks will be added to the Dow Jones STOXX 600 and its respective size and sector indexes: ADMIRAL GROUP (United Kingdom, Insurance), BAM GROEP (Netherlands, Construction & Materials), CARPHONE WAREHOUSE GRP (United Kingdom, Retail), DEBENHAMS (United Kingdom, Retail), HEXAGON B (Sweden, Industrial Goods & Services), IFIL INVESTMENTS (Italy, Financial Services), LEGRAND (France, Industrial Goods & Services), OKO BANK A (Finland, Banks), PAN FISH (Norway, Food & Beverage) and WILLIAM DEMANT HOLDING (Denmark, Health Care).

Companies exiting the index are: AMB GENERALI HOLDING (Germany, Insurance), BETANDWIN.COM INTERACTIVE ENT (Austria, Travel & Leisure), EDISON (Italy, Utilities), EMPORIKI BANK OF GREECE SA (Greece, Banks), GETRONICS (Netherlands, Technology), HUHTAMAKI OYJ (Finland, Industrial Goods & Services), IBERIA (Spain, Travel & Leisure), NOKIAN RENKAAT (Finland, Automobiles & Parts), OCE (Netherlands, Technology) and ORION B (Finland, Health Care).

The sector classification for the Dow Jones STOXX 600 component NORSK HYDRO (Norway) will change from Basic Resources to Oil & Gas.

As of 31 July 2006 the total free-float market capitalization of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX 600 decreased from EUR 6,516.77 billion to EUR 6,276.66 billion and of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX Total Market Index from EUR 6,999.50 to EUR 6,735.70 billion.

The Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 and the Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged Total Market Index are also part of this regular quarterly review. The new composition of the indexes can be found at http://www.stoxx.com/info/reports/reviews2006.html.

As of July 31, 2006 the total free-float market capitalization of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 index decreased from EUR 20,424.54 billion to EUR 19,659.35 billion, and of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged Total Market Index increased from EUR 80.09 billion to EUR 80.37 billion.

The composition of the Dow Jones STOXX Football Index will remain unchanged. The total free-float market capitalization of the Dow Jones STOXX Football Index increased from EUR 830.14 million to EUR 871.99.

Changes are being announced today after the conclusion of a regular quarterly component review. The adjusted component weightings, including the number of shares and free-float factors, will be announced on 13 September 2006 after close of European markets. All changes will be effective on 18 September 2006
