Bear Stearns names European prime brokerage and equity finance heads

Bear, Stearns International Limited has named Paul Brannan and Andrew Jamieson European Heads of Prime Brokerage and Equity Finance respectively.

Bear, Stearns International Limited has named Paul Brannan and Andrew Jamieson European Heads of Prime Brokerage and Equity Finance respectively. Both Brannan and Jamieson are due to join Bear Stearns in June.

Brannan has been appointed as Head of Prime Brokerage, joining from Lehman Brothers where he was Global Head of Client Service, Transition and Client Facing Technology. He was previously head of business development for CSFB’s European and Asian prime services division. He will report to Leonard Feder and Louis Lebedin, Global Co-Heads of Prime Brokerage, in New York and to Vincent Van Pelt and Nicolo Brandolini D’Adda, Co-Heads of Equities, in London.

Jamieson has been appointed as Head of Equity Finance, joining from Barclays Capital where he has spent six years focusing on hedge fund coverage, securities lending and synthetic products. Prior to that he spent two years in Equity Finance at Paloma Securities. He will report to Jeremy Hill, Global Head of Synthetic Equity Finance and Pat Cestaro, Global Head of Stock Loan in New York and to Paul Brannan in London.

Vincent Van Pelt, Co-Head of Equities in Europe, said: ‘We are committed to investing in the growth and development of our prime brokerage business and these appointments are key to our international strategy. Both Paul and Andrew will draw upon their valuable experience in developing business lines and new product areas as we expand our business in Europe.’
