EIM USA to sell funds of hedge funds in Japan with Daiwa

EIM Management USA, the US affiliate of the Swiss-based EIM fund of hedge funds group, has announced the establishment of a strategic partnership with Daiwa Fund Consulting, the Tokyo-based fund research company belonging to the Daiwa Securities Group, to meet growing domestic demand for hedge fund investments in Japan.

Under the partnership agreement, EIM USA and Daiwa will develop a series of diversified fund of hedge funds investment products to be introduced later this year to the Japanese marketplace. Terms of the partnership agreement have not been disclosed.

'EIM is one of the largest and most successful fund of hedge funds groups in the world,' says Daiwa Fund Consulting director Koji Takeuchi. 'We are excited to partner with EIM USA to better meet the growing demands of our clients in Japan for access to investments in hedge funds.'

Antonio Munoz, chief executive of EIM USA, adds: 'In my numerous meetings with Japanese investors, it is clear that they are looking for a broader array of investment opportunities. We are thrilled to be partnering with Daiwa to offer Japanese investors access to EIM's alternative platform.'

New York-based EIM USA manages more than USD1bn in assets for sophisticated institutional investors and family offices. The EIM group is an independent fund of hedge funds manager that provides tailor-made products for its clients around the world.

Founded in 1992 by Arpad Busson, EIM now has more than USD12bn in assets under management and more than 170 employees at offices in Geneva, Zurich, New York, London, Paris, Singapore, Monaco and Gibraltar.
