Carey Olsen appoints two new partners in Channel Islands
Tom Carey has been made a partner with Carey Olsen in Guernsey, where he is a member of the corporate and finance group, while Chris Philpott will become a partner in the law firm's Jersey property group.
Carey began his legal career with a training contract at Norton Rose in 1998. After qualifying as a solicitor in October 2000, he joined the firm's corporate finance department. He was in-house counsel at Morgan Stanley Investment Management from 2002 before joining the corporate and finance group at Carey Olsen in August 2004.
Philpott became an advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey in 2000 and a solicitor in 2002. A specialist in commercial and residential property, Philpott was legal adviser to the attorney general for Jersey for five years before joining Carey Olsen in 2002.
Carey Olsen, which has 31 partners and more than 135 lawyers, provides Guernsey and Jersey legal advice across all practice areas from its offices in Jersey, Guernsey and London.
