Jersey-based international financial and legal service provider Mourant has opened a new office in Dublin, the group's 11th worldwide, to provide administration services to structured finance vehicles, and says it has plans for further jurisdictional growth.
The new office is headed by Peter O'Leary, an Irish solicitor previously with A&L Goodbody in Ireland and more recently with Mourant's team in Jersey, who says: 'I'm delighted to have the opportunity to lead such a strong administration brand as it enters a new geographical market.
'The structured finance market in Dublin continues to show significant growth and demands high quality services to support the growing number of investment banks and lawyers involved in structuring this type of vehicle.'
Mourant's new offices are based at the Fitzwilliam Business Centre at 77 Sir John Rogerson's Quay, a location conveniently situated to service Dublin's financial services community and close to the city centre.
Mourant International Finance Administration is a provider of fund and corporate administration services, with more than USD150bn in fund assets. 'We have been administering Irish vehicles since 2004 from our offices in Jersey,' O'Leary says.
'However, the combination of Dublin's position moving toward the forefront of capital market structures, coupled with increasing requests from our existing clients, has illustrated that the environment is favourable to set up a dedicated office in Ireland to deliver our special purpose vehicle administration services.'
Ian Lambert, chief executive of Mourant International Finance Administration, adds: 'As we see more and more clients looking for multi-jurisdictional structures, we are delighted to be able to add Dublin to our list of strategically-placed offices. Our jurisdictional reach together with our track record of delivering service excellence will differentiate us as a strong competitor in this market.'
Mourant is a multi-disciplinary professional services group specialising in fund and corporate administration, offshore law and private wealth services and with almost 1,000 employees at its offices in Grand Cayman, Dubai, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Jersey, London, Luxembourg, New York, Singapore and San Francisco as well as Dublin.
Apart from the International Finance Administration business, the group includes 'offshore magic circle' law firm Mourant du Feu & Jeune, which has offices in Cayman, Guernsey, Jersey, London and New York and specialises in providing legal advice to the international finance and funds markets.
