The Office of General Counsel of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission has announced it has issued a no-action letter permitting the offer and sale in the US of eight Eurex futures contracts.

The eight contracts are based on broad-based security indices derived from the Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Index, comprising the Dow Jones Stoxx Large 200, Dow Jones Stoxx Small 200, Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Industrial Goods & Services, Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Insurance, Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Media, Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Personal & Household Goods, Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Travel & Leisure and Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Utilities indices.

The Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Index comprises 600 highly capitalised and actively traded stocks listed and traded on the stock exchanges of 17 European countries. The Large 200 Index consists of the largest 200 stocks of the Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Index, while the Small 200 Index consists of the 200 stocks with the smallest capitalisation in the broad index.

The remaining indices include stocks that represent a supersector of the Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Index and are selected based on each stock’s industry classification.
