Curt Custard is to join UBS Global Asset Management as head of global investment solutions, based in London and reporting to John Fraser, chairman and chief executive of UBS Global Asset Management.

The global investment solutions business, with invested assets of CHF200bn, encompasses asset allocation, currency, risk management and advisory services. It draws upon an unconstrained array of asset classes, strategies, currencies and active managers to create investment solutions focused on clients’ challenges.

Its disciplined investment approach is based on rigorous analysis of risk and return exposures embedded in highly diversified portfolios.

Custard joins UBS Global Asset Management from Schroders, where he was global head of multi-asset solutions, a position he has held since 2004. This team operated three integrated business lines with invested assets of USD46bn, multi-asset solutions, structured investments and multi-managers.

Previously he was chief investment officer of the multi-asset and balanced business of Allianz Global Investors in London, having earlier headed global fixed income at Dresdner RCM, which was merged into financial consultant AGI.
