Fortis Prime Fund Solutions hires Edith Ngan as regional managing director for Asia

Fortis Prime Fund Solutions has appointed Edith Ngan as regional managing director for Asian operations, in charge of its offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo.

Fortis Prime Fund Solutions has appointed Edith Ngan as regional managing director for Asian operations, in charge of its offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. Her responsibilities are to enhance and expand service levels and product range for existing clients and to introduce the Fortis PFS suite of services to new markets.

Ngan has expertise within the investment industry, experience in managing large, multi-jurisdictional offices within Asia, and a wide knowledge of the region. She joins Fortis from the Principal Financial Group where she was chief operations officer for greater China, overseeing its full service retirement and investment operation in Hong Kong and a mutual fund joint venture with China Construction Bank in Beijing.

She was previously chief executive in charge of the Hong Kong and Singapore offices of Invesco, responsible for South-East Asia, Taiwan, South Korea and the Middle East. Ngan has previous experience working at the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, KPMG in Hong Kong, Price Waterhouse in the UK and the Swire Group in Hong Kong.

Fortis PFS regards the Asian region as a strategic component of its future development. With assets under management in Asia approaching USD28bn and more than 140 staff, it is one of the largest and longest established providers of administration, custody and finance to hedge funds, funds of hedge funds and private equity and real estate funds in the region.

Chief executive Erik Jens says: ‘Fortis PFS intends to continue its investment in the development in Asia of  innovative and cutting-edge products geared to its ambitious global client base. To this end, while Gordon Shaw will resume his role as regional managing director for Europe based in London, his involvement in these strategic initiatives will ensure a close dialogue and interaction with the Fortis PFS Asia operations.’
