Jay B. Howard, portfolio manager and chief investment officer of Troy, Michigan-based Leonard Asset Management, has been elected to the 2008 board of directors of the Hedge Fund Association.
The association is an international non-profit organisation with a membership of hedge fund managers, investors and service providers and which seeks to increase awareness of the advantages and opportunities in hedge funds. As a director, Howard will seek to increase awareness of the association within the hedge fund community.
Howard, founder of the alternative investment practice at Leonard Asset Management, oversees the investment programme and is responsible for day to day management of its private fund of funds product. His career in the investment and finance industry spans more than 10 years.
Leonard Asset Management is an investment advisor that specialises in alternative investments and is under common ownership with Leonard & Company, Michigan’s largest independent brokerage firm. Founded in 1989, Leonard & Company has offices across the state as well as in New York and Colorado.
