In recognition of the increasing complexity and opportunity offered by efficient global futures execution, Mequon, Wisconsin-based Fall River Capital has recruited Jon Thompson, who has more than 15 years of futures trading experience, to manage all trading desk operations.

Thompson began his career in the futures industry in 1991 servicing institutional grain clients for futures commission merchant R.J. O’Brien, two years later becoming head of global trading operations in charge of the firm’s 24-hour order handling desk and a team of more than 20 people.

In 1995 Thompson became the senior trader for a commodity trading adviser specialising in short-term systematic trading. He now has extensive experience in futures exchange floor and electronic execution and in foreign exchange.

Fall River Capital, founded in 1999 by Robert Friedl and Charles Wright, is a registered commodity trading adviser that currently manages some USD290m using proprietary systematic approaches to trading of a diversified portfolio of futures contracts.
