Mourant International Finance Administration, part of the Jersey-based international legal and financial services group Mourant, has completed its 200th listing on the Channel Islands Stock Exchange, where it is the fastest-growing listing agent.

‘The listing of debt securities such as Eurobonds on the CISX remains very popular as our clients continue to take advantage of the quoted Eurobond exemption, which allows UK-based issuers to eliminate UK withholding tax on payments of interest to parties not resident in the UK,’ says listing manager Jason Bingham.

‘Real estate investment funds focusing on emerging markets are also very popular, and we have had a significant number of listing enquiries relating to these specific types of structures.’

Mourant is a founding member of the CISX and is a Category 1 member, which allows it to act as a listing sponsor for all types of securities capable of being listed on the exchange. Since August last year, Mourant has seen its growth in listing instructions grow by 38 per cent.

Bingham says listing on the CISX offers various advantages including efficient service, competitive pricing and a fast document turnaround time, a particularly responsive market authority that will consider all legal structures, straightforward and flexible rules that give then exchange more discretion than its competitors to offer derogations where investors will not be prejudiced, less onerous disclosure and continuing obligations, especially compared with exchanges subject to EU directives, and the absence of any obligation under the listing rules to prepare accounts under IFRS.

Mourant International Finance Administration is an international provider of fund and corporate administration services, specialising in the administration of collective investment funds, limited partnerships, unit trusts, special-purpose vehicles and other vehicles used in the structuring of international financial transactions. It services more than USD150bn in fund assets from offices in Cayman, Dubai, Dublin, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Jersey, London, Luxembourg, New York, San Francisco and Singapore.

The Mourant group is a multi-disciplinary professional services group, specialising in offshore law, fund and corporate administration and private wealth services, employing more than 1,000 staff worldwide. Offshore law firm Mourant du Feu & Jeune operates from offices in Cayman, Guernsey, Jersey, London and New York and provides legal advice in various practice areas to the international finance and funds markets.
