New York-based Conative Capital Management has launched its first hedge fund, CCM Partners Fund, which will make fundamentally-driven, privately negotiated investments in the capital structure of smaller (sub-USD1bn) companies faced with special situations. The fund will consider portfolio investments in various stages of a company’s life cycle.

Conative Capital founders Christopher Rossman and Louis Rabman, who will serve as co-managers, have been managing private market investments since 1997.

In January 2004, Rossman and Rabman co-founded Bushido Capital Partners and served as chief investment officer and head trader respectively until the sale of their interests in the partnership in 2007. Previously both worked at L.H. Financial.
