Wealth manager BDO Stoy Hayward Investment Management has strengthened its alternatives fund of funds team with three senior additions, portfolio manager John Smutniak and hedge fund analysts Dev Jadeja and Rahul Saito.

Smutniak joins BDO Stoy Hayward Investment Management from Lyonross Capital Management, where he was portfolio manager for several alternative funds of funds. He previously spent four years at The Economist covering economics and the financial markets, following two years researching global mining companies at Harvard and four years with consultancy Charles River in Boston.

Jadeja comes from Old Mutual Asset Managers, where he was an assistant portfolio manager in the multi-manager hedge fund team, focusing on quantitative and fundamental equity, macro programmes and fixed income exposure.

Saito arrives following three years with hedge fund manager RMF, part of the Man Group, including two years in Tokyo covering Asian managers within RMF’s macro and emerging market funds. He has also worked in structured lending at Shinsei Bank in Tokyo for two years and as an investment banking analyst at CSFB.
