Conifer Securities has added two executives to its offshore fund administration business in the British Virgin Islands, Conifer Fund Services. David Bateman has been appointed associate director and Donna-Maria De Roche becomes an account manager to help Conifer meet what it says is continuing demand for fund administration services despite the financial turmoil.
Bateman, who joins Conifer from UBS Fund Services, and De Roche, who comes from Fortis Prime Fund Solutions, both have expertise in the provision of offshore services to US-based hedge funds and alternative asset managers.

Bateman has spent seven years in the offshore financial services industry, primarily in fund administration. He was previously a fund administration manager at UBS Fund Services in Ireland, having previously been a fund administrator with UBS in Cayman and a senior accountant at Bank of America (Cayman).
De Roche previously spent five years with Fortis Prime Fund Solutions (BVI) and its predecessor company, Hedge Fund Services, gaining extensive experience in administering funds with varying legal structures and investment strategies. Earlier she spent nine years with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Trinidad as an audit and business advisory manager responsible for audit clients within the banking and finance sector.
Conifer Fund Services was launched in 2006 by Conifer Securities and the firm’s management to provide services to onshore and offshore funds including fund accounting, fund performance and benchmark reporting, performance and management fee calculation, and generation of financial records, reports and documentation required for annual audit and tax preparation by outside auditors.
San Francisco-based Conifer Securities provides middle- and back-office services to investment management clients including fund accounting and administration, trade operations, execution, executive office space, compliance, corporate accounting, consulting services and business infrastructure.
