Jeff Carlin has been named senior vice president and national sales manager at IndexIQ, which develops hedge fund replication products and other alternative investment strategies for the adviser market.

Carlin joins the firm from brokerage Charles Schwab, where he was national sales manager.

'Jeff brings a broad understanding of the investment needs of registered investment advisers and their clients to his role here at IndexIQ,' says Tony Davidow, executive vice president and head of distribution at the firm. Carlin has spent 15 years in the financial services industry, serving as a regional sales director at Smith Barney's Consulting Group prior to joining Schwab.

He sits on the board of directors of the Investment Management Consultants Association.
