Citi has hired Mark Harrison into the role of European head of prime finance.
He will assume the responsibility from Nick Roe who has been European and global head of prime finance since March 2008.
During his career Harrison has been the global chief operating officer for equity derivatives and European head of securities lending at Morgan Stanley, and international head of prime brokerage and securities lending at Deutsche Bank.
Since leaving Deutsche Bank he set up Carlyle Blue Wave with the ex-Deutsche Bank head of proprietary trading and more recently was chief operating officer at Cheyne Capital.
Harrison will report to Roe, Citi global head of prime finance, also based in London.
"Mark is unquestionably one of the most talented, experienced and well respected prime finance professionals in the industry,' says Roe. 'He is a great addition to our team and his leadership will prove invaluable. This is one of several key hires we will announce over the coming weeks as we continue to innovate and invest in talent and technology to ensure our hedge fund and institutional fund clients receive best in class service.'
