Alter Domus, the Luxembourg-based provider of outsourced administration services, has announced the opening of an office in Hong Kong, as from 1 January 2009.

The new office will provide corporate management services to companies in the region.

Alter Domus is also acquiring Skye Fund Services, an Asian fund services provider, allowing it to provide fund administration services from Asia to its clients.

The firm says a presence in Hong Kong will allow it to more easily serve its existing Asian clients. Equally, it will be able to offer locally-managed services to those attracted by the Hong Kong regulatory environment.

Javed Rahman of Skye has been appointed managing director of both lines of businesses.

Dominique Robyns, chief executive of Alter Domus Group, says: ‘The Hong Kong and wider Asian markets represent important opportunities for our clients. In an evolving environment such as this one our clients need us to be highly proactive and adaptable in our work. Having a complete team working in the local market will give us the crucial ability to provide services based on our real-time knowledge of the market and local regulations.’

Rahman says: ‘Alter Domus Group has an excellent reputation in its field, both for the depth of knowledge it is able to offer and for the quality of service it provides its clients. Skye Fund Services brings to the partnership its significant experience and recognised expertise in selected Asian markets.’
