Chicago-based Huron Consulting Group, a provider of business consulting services, has announced that Kevin P. Gibbons and Peter E. Walsh have joined the company as managing directors in the accounting and financial consulting practice focused on the financial services sector.

"Financial institutions and their investors need trusted advice from expert resources to help guide them through the many challenges of today’s economic environment," says Gary E. Holdren, chairman and chief executive officer, Huron Consulting Group. "Kevin and Pete are uniquely qualified to help our alternative asset manager, institutional investor, regulated bank, and specialty finance clients develop solutions to restructure, value, manage, perform due diligence, and unwind complex structured credit products in the changing regulatory and capital markets landscape."

Gibbons and Walsh join Huron from Six Degrees Capital Management where they were both founding partners focused on structured credit asset management. They have extensive experience originating, structuring, and investing in structured credit products including asset-backed securities and complex derivatives, managing credit investment vehicles, restructuring securitized credit facilities, and providing advisory services to financial companies.

Prior to founding Six Degrees Capital Management, Gibbons and Walsh spent over a decade as senior members of BMO Capital Markets in the US securitization group providing structured credit financing solutions, capital raising and advisory services to financial companies and asset managers.

Huron’s services include due diligence, restructuring advisory, valuation, accounting advisory, litigation services, governance, and risk management. Huron serves the principal financial services sectors including banks, insurance, capital markets, asset management, and asset servicing.
