SkyBridge Capital, which provides strategic capital to new and early-stage hedge funds, has announced that more than 500 asset managers and investors and other industry thought leaders have registered to convene at its first annual alternatives conference.

The conference is to be held 13 to 15 May in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Over the course of three days, attendees of the summit will discuss investment ideas and strategies within the context of the current economic environment.

The more than two dozen panels and speeches designed to provide multiple expert perspectives will focus on topics including the interplay between public policy and the economy, the future of the credit markets, opportunities in distressed and structured credit, the future of the hedge funds of funds industry, and risk management.

More than 50 confirmed panelists and speakers are headlining the conference, including: Michael Milken, chairman, The Milken Institute; Kate Marshall, treasurer, State of Nevada; Kenneth J. Heinz, president, Hedge Fund Research; and Congressman Richard Gephardt, former house majority leader and house minority leader, US House of Representatives.

Anthony Scaramucci, managing partner of SkyBridge Capital, says: "There has been an extraordinary response to the agenda of the first SkyBridge Alternatives Conference, confirming our view that there is a true need today for a forum that convenes asset managers, sophisticated investors and other thought leaders to allow them to exchange ideas regarding current and future challenges and opportunities. We look forward to delivering on this promise when we come together in Las Vegas next week."
