Harewood Solutions, a part of BNP Paribas, has raised GBP25.5m for its latest fund, the BNP Paribas Comac Fund.

This is the second fund launch by Harewood Solutions in 2009, following on the heels of the launch of the company’s Enhanced Income Fund.

The BNP Paribas Comac Fund will be listed on the Channel Island Stock Exchange with effect from 1 June 2009 and quoted on the London Stock Exchange’s International Bulletin Board from 2 June 2009.

It provides exposure to the performance of an actively managed long short strategy based on a portfolio of 25 commodities selected from the energy, metals and agriculture sectors through the BNP Paribas Comac Long Short Total Return Index Net of Fees which since inception on 30 April 2008 is up 68.4 per cent, (as at 26 May 2009).

Ryan Rogowski, head of Harewood Solutions, BNP Paribas, says: ‘We are finding that in this climate investors are seeking actively managed alpha generating investments. The BNP Paribas COMAC strategy offers this investment potential alongside daily liquidity, full transparency and stringent risk management.

‘More importantly, investors feel confident in our proven skills, not only in this field but also across a diverse range of investment products. BNP Paribas is one of few organisations that, through the crisis, has demonstrated commitment, capacity and resource to this market.’
