RBC Capital Markets boosts European platform

RBC Capital Markets, the corporate and investment banking arm of Royal Bank of Canada, has made further hires in Europe with the appointment of Carmine Meoli as head of private banking

RBC Capital Markets, the corporate and investment banking arm of Royal Bank of Canada, has made further hires in Europe with the appointment of Carmine Meoli as head of private banking solutions sales, and Arif Hussein and Peter Drewienkiewicz as directors in the rates sales and trading team.

Meoli joins RBC Capital Markets’ structured equity and commodity group in London, with over 15 years of structured products experience. Most recently he was with ABN Amro and Deutsche Bank where he was head of private banking sales, Switzerland. 

Hussein and Dreswienkiewicz both join RBC Capital Markets from UBS, where Hussein was head of sterling swaps and Drewienkiewicz was executive director in fixed income rates derivatives.

Harry Samuel (pictured), co-head of fixed income and currencies and regional head of global markets, says: ‘These latest hires advance our long-term strategy to develop and grow our core businesses in Europe. We are committed to expanding on our strengths in the structured rates and equity products arena and continue to look out for new hiring opportunities to build out a diversified, customer focused operation.’
