VOC Capital Management, an investment management firm that focuses on delivering low volatility, high absolute returns from commodities investments, has started operations in London.
The company has been authorised by the Financial Services Authority and has started out managing client funds after extensive market testing and research.
VOC Capital’s managers deploy a number of active investment strategies across a diverse range of commodity futures including precious metals, base metals, softs, energy, grains and livestock. These strategies are then combined into a broadly market neutral portfolio to deliver risk-adjusted returns
VOC Capital’s founder is Christiaen van Lanschot, the former head of commodities investment at AIG in Europe and Asia.
Over time VOC Capital intends to develop a suite of investment opportunities focused on the commodities market.
Van Lanschot says: ‘After a successful period at AIG, I feel now is the perfect time to be launching a new investment management firm.
