Blacksquare Capital has celebrated the one year anniversary of its Commodity Fund of Hedge Funds, which began trading on 1 June 2008.
Blacksquare Capital has celebrated the one year anniversary of its Commodity Fund of Hedge Funds, which began trading on 1 June 2008.
The fund invests in six specialist commodity trading funds, which have been selected for their exposure to a range of commodity markets, investment styles and risk management.
Blacksquare says eight of the first 12 months of the fund have delivered positive returns for investors. It has outperformed the GSCI by 52 per cent since inception.
Christopher Peel, Blacksquare partner and chief executive, says: "Investors have become less concerned about the possibility of a prolonged recession as focus has shifted to the green shoots of recovery which have brought the commodity asset class back into the spotlight."
