Weston Capital Partners Master Fund II is funding long/short Latin American manager Sagil Capital.

London-based Sagil has launched a Latin American long-short fund employing arbitrage, relative value and directional strategies to take advantage of regional opportunities and generate attractive risk-adjusted returns.

Using local market knowledge with global perspective gleaned from many years of experience as part of the proprietary trading desk of Rand Merchant Bank in South Africa, Sagil will deploy a thorough and disciplined investment process with a strong focus on risk management.

The Sagil founding team, Adrian Landgrebe, Bradford Jones and Mark Hendricks, bring extensive experience investing in Latin America during their careers at Rand Merchant Bank.

‘We are excited to be partnered with Weston Capital and look forward to implementing our strategy in Latin America’ says Landgrebe.

‘After knowing Adrian from his time at Rand Merchant Bank, I am happy to be doing business with him in his new venture, and hope for a long and fruitful partnership’ says Albert Hallac, chairman of Weston.

Sagil will be funded by Weston Capital Partners Master Fund II, the second incubation fund from Weston Capital.
