Spencer House Partners has appointed Knut Eirik Dahl, formerly of J.P. Morgan, as a partner.

Dahl, who has 18 years of investment banking experience, will focus on providing the firm’s merchant banking and advisory services to clients in the investment management industry.

"Knut brings a wealth of industry knowledge and an extensive relationship network to Spencer House Partners," says Jeremy Sillem, managing partner of Spencer House Partners. "His financial services expertise, as well as his significant M&A and capital markets experience, will be highly valuable to our clients who are seeking the independent advice, industry knowledge, and capital sources that Spencer House Partners aims to provide. We are extremely pleased to have him join the firm."

Most recently Dahl was a managing director at J.P. Morgan, where he led the team responsible for corporate finance transactions in the asset management sector. He moved to J.P. Morgan from Bear Stearns International, having served there as senior managing director and head of the speciality finance group in the investment banking department.

Prior to Bear Stearns, Dahl worked at Putnam Lovell, an M&A boutique focused on the investment management industry, and before that he spent 12 years at Lehman Brothers and Goldman Sachs.

Dahl says: "I am very happy to be joining a first class organisation. I look forward to building on the momentum of Spencer House Partners and growing our financial services advisory and investing practices in the UK and Europe."
