Global names Rajiv Nakani head of alternative asset management

Global Investment House has appointed Rajiv Nakani as senior vice president to head the company’s alternative asset management business.

Nakani (pictured) has more than 16 years’ experience in investing and investment banking and brings in-depth sector experience in financial services, telecom, media, retail, logistics, healthcare, education and real estate.

Nakani was Global’s head of investment banking from August 2004 to June 2007.

Bader Al-Sumait, chief executive officer of Global, says: “It is a pleasure to welcome Mr. Nakani back. In addition to his previous experience with Global where he led several merchant banking transactions and private equity investments on behalf of Global and its clients, Mr. Nakani has significant investment and investment advisory experience across the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.”

Prior to joining Global, Nakani was investment director at private equity group in Dubai managing USD500m in private equity funds, investing across Asia and North Africa. He has held several senior positions, including director, mergers and acquisitions for a major group in Kuwait, where he built the private equity platform for retail and food and beverages sectors, and led the acquisition and integration with a retail operation in Jordan. Earlier in his career, he held research and credit roles in India and Kuwait.
