Veritas Asset Management has appointed Guy Davidson to the newly established position of UK regional discretionary sales manager.

Davidson’s primary role will be to develop and strengthen Veritas’s relationships with regionally based discretionary asset managers across the UK, helping to promote the firm’s suite of global and Asia products.

He will also be responsible for relationship management and business development with the head offices of national wealth management firms.

Davidson has over 19 years of experience with wholesale clients, most recently at UBS Global Asset Management where he spent seven years as regional sales director building the profile of the UK wholesale team. While at UBS, he was responsible for delivering new business targets for the region from a standing start to consistently generating profitable business.

Prior to this, Davidson was regional sales director at Artemis Unit Trust Managers. He was responsible for establishing and maintaining client relationships from scratch, securing buy list positions with key national stockbrokers and generating new business with and in excess of the required.

Davidson has also worked with both Winterthur and Scottish Life as a pensions consultant.

He joins the company on 1 December and will report to Richard Meyrick, director and head of sales and marketing at Veritas.

Meyrick says: “The creation of this new dedicated sales role, coupled with the appointment of someone of Guy’s proven record and experience, highlights our commitment to further expanding our reach across the UK.”

“A number of our funds have reached significant milestones so far this year, while we have also broken through the GBP2bn barrier of assets under management. Guy’s appointment clearly demonstrates our aim to build upon this momentum.”
