The Kenmar Group is expanding its Signature Advisors business unit with the hiring of Stephen Kingham as managing director of global distribution for Signature and submission of its application to the UK Financial Services Authority.

Signature provides global investors with access to individual managers that fill a niche within the alternative investment universe.

As head of Signature, Kingham will bring extensive structuring and business development expertise, having held senior positions at several well-known asset management and investment banking firms, most recently at RBS (ABN Amro) and Zurich Capital Markets (UK).

Marc Goodman and Ken Shewer, co-chief executive officers and co-chief investment officers of Kenmar since its inception in 1983, said: “We are very excited that Stephen has joined our team. His extensive global institutional relationships, expertise in derivatives and his ability to match innovative solutions to specific investor needs will be a tremendous advantage for Signature and the managers it represents.”

Kingham adds: “Kenmar’s long experience on the buy side and their history of uncovering talented managers early in their development were key factors in my decision to join Signature.”

It is expected that managers represented by Signature will offer managed accounts to institutional investors through The Kenmar Group’s Clarity managed account and analytics platform.

Signature’s business model operates on the premise of partnering with talented managers by providing services to help them build strong, sustainable and successful businesses.

Kenmar has four distinct business units comprised of its global institutional multi-manager business, US multi-manager funds, single manager funds and its managed account platform.
