Sophis, a provider of cross-asset, front-to-back portfolio and risk management solutions, has named Jean-Sébastien Py as general manager for South Asia.

Py joined Sophis in 2004 and played a pivotal role in building the Sophis team and client base in Hong Kong.

Moving rapidly through the ranks from front office consultant to senior business consultant, before heading up the business consulting team for Asia, Py is now based in Singapore and has full responsibility for all activity in the region.

Py’s objective is to build Sophis’ presence in South Asia to deliver best practice in terms of consulting, support and implementations for new and existing clients.

In addition he will be looking to leverage Sophis’ recent success in Australia and Singapore as well as exploring new markets such as India and Vietnam.

“Asia is a large and varied region that offers a multitude of opportunities for Sophis. By expanding our footprint in South Asia we will be able to deliver service excellence to our clients from our Singapore hub, and create a strong and trusted brand that will enable us to leverage new opportunities and gain a foothold in new markets,” says Py.

Corinne Grillet (pictured), chief operating officer for Asia, says: “I am very pleased to announce Jean-Sébastien’s promotion to this new role. This appointment is an affirmation of Sophis’ continued commitment to Asia and to providing our clients with the best possible levels of local expertise and support.”
