Peak Ridge Capital, an alternative asset management firm, has added Gary King as a senior strategic adviser to the firm.

King (pictured) will primarily be responsible for assisting Peak Ridge in the continuing expansion of its alternative investments platform.

King has more than two decades of international experience across the energy and financial sectors, working for companies such as Neste Oy, Morgan Stanley, Emirates National Oil Company and Macquarie Bank.

He is a pioneer in the Middle East private equity sector and was instrumental in developing the Standard Bank/GIB GCC Energy Fund – the first fund established in the GCC to invest exclusively in the energy sector and one of the first companies to be incorporated and licensed within the Dubai International Financial Centre.

He has also had an influential role in developing and implementing other regional private equity initiatives focused on energy, natural resources and infrastructure.

Most recently, King was the chief executive of Dubai Natural Resources World. Prior to this, Gary was the chief executive of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange where he was instrumental in establishing the DME as an international exchange.

King is on the board of directors of Parker Drilling and is a director of Kulczyk Oil Ventures.

“The addition of Gary to our team is a unique and exciting opportunity that will allow us to expand the breadth of our investor base and draw upon his unmatched knowledge and experience in the Middle East and beyond,” says Michael McNally, chairman and chief executive of Peak Ridge Capital.

“I’m delighted to be working with Peak Ridge; their fund offerings are unique and compelling, both in terms of their diversity and potential for superior risk-adjusted returns. We’ve already received considerable positive feedback from the market and look forward to further discussions with potential investors,” adds King.
