Hoare Capital Markets, an agency broker focusing on the provision of OTC securities and derivatives, has made Sergio Marques and Andrew Sheppard partners and promoted Tim Cartmell to chief operating officer.

Marques (pictured) has gained experience in marketing and distributing cash and synthetic structured credit products during his time at Hoare Capital and Bank of America.

Before joining Bank of America, Marques was responsible for cash CLO structuring at Deutsche Bank. He will continue to drive ABS and structured product sales at Hoare Capital.

Sheppard brings over 23 years of fixed income trading experience to Hoare Capital from Westlb, Unibanco, DLJ and JP Morgan. His previous roles have seen him work in proprietary trading, fixed income credit trading as well as trading emerging market external debt for Latin America and Eastern Europe.

Cartmell runs the credit desk at Hoare Capital and has over 25 years of sell-side experience in capital markets, both on the rates and credit sides.

His previous positions include head of gilt sales at JP Morgan and head of UK credit sales at Dresdner Kleinwort.

Nicholas Hoare, founding senior partner of Hoare Capital, says: “We value our staff highly and appreciate the team’s hard work. We strive to provide the best service possible for our clients and believe these promotions will enhance our capabilities.”
