Pardus Capital Management recruits senior analyst

Related Topics

Pardus Capital Management, a New York-based alternative investment manager, had recruited Lutz Stoeber as a senior analyst to evaluate distressed investments in Western Europe, focusing on Germany.

Stoeber has financial analysis, private equity and leveraged buyout experience, with particular expertise in chemicals, basic manufacturing and shipping.

He will leverage Pardus’ existing relationships in the European restructuring community.

“We are pleased to bring Lutz back to our team, and look forward to benefiting from his industry expertise and relationships as we continue to evaluate distressed investments in various sectors,” says president and chief investment officer Karim Samii. “Among other opportunities, we have partnered with an established German shipping operator to bid on several hundred million Euros of distressed shipping assets. German banks are holding in excess of USD100bn of shipping loans that need to be worked out in some fashion, which makes this a very large and attractive market for us.”

Prior to joining Pardus, Stoeber was an investment professional at WR Huff where he worked alongside Samii and Joseph Thornton, Pardus principal and portfolio manager.

Previously, Stoeber was a member of D. George Harris, a leveraged buy-out firm specialising in chemicals, minerals and related basic industries.

Prior to that, he worked for three years in product development at AlliedSignal in the US and Europe.
