J O Hambro Investment Management has appointed James Du Boulay as manager of funds distribution.

Du Boulay will be based in London, reporting to Stephen Browne, head of marketing for the firm’s recently consolidated sales and marketing function.

Du Boulay will be responsible for marketing J O Hambro’s Waverton Ucits fund range and the Pepin and Tai Chi hedge dunds.

He joins from HIM Capital where he was head of sales and marketing.

Browne says: “James has a very successful track record of increasing inflows into long-only and hedge fund products and launching new funds to the market. Having someone of his calibre working in our team will undoubtedly support plans for the growth of the fund business.”

J O Hambro’s newly consolidated marketing team will focus on five areas across the business: the private client business; the Waverton and hedge fund range; the managed funds service; partnership with Credit Suisse’s private banking business (its parent company); and work with charities.

Charles Bathurst has decided to step down from his position as head of funds distribution, but will retain links with the company as a director of the offshore fund companies Waverton Investment Funds, Pepin Fund and Tai Chi Fund.
