Conyers promotes five to partner status

Law firm Conyers Dill & Pearman has promoted five lawyers across its British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Hong Kong and Singapore offices and corporate, litigation and insurance practices to partner status.

Richard Evans (pictured) of Conyers’ BVI litigation department has over 15 years’ experience in commercial litigation and all contentious aspects of commercial and insolvency law. He has appeared as lead counsel in a number of leading decisions in BVI.

Evans specialises in obtaining and securing the enforcement of all forms of urgent interim relief, shareholders’ and connected disputes, and disputed debt/distressed funds matters.

Jeffrey Elkinson JP of Conyers’ Bermuda litigation department has over three decades’ experience in commercial litigation and arbitration. He specialises in banking, trusts, insurance, reinsurance, construction, administrative law, telecommunications and energy. He sits as an arbitrator and acts as counsel in arbitration, both local and international.

Richard Hall of Conyers’ Hong Kong office practices all areas of corporate law. His expertise extends to corporate finance, where he specializes in private equity investments and pre-IPO financings, as well as IPOs of BVI, Cayman and Bermuda companies on global stock exchanges including Hong Kong, Korea, London and America.

Michael Frith of Conyers’ Bermuda insurance department practices all aspects of corporate law. He specialises in advising on insurance/reinsurance regulations and transactions, including new insurance incorporations, private placement equity financing of insurance companies and other financing and transactional work.

Kung Whooi Phing of Conyers’ Singapore office has broad experience in corporate and commercial law, and specialises in advising on IPOs of BVI, Bermuda and Cayman exempted companies, corporate financing transactions, restructuring exercises and closed-ended private equity investment. She recently acted in the first Bermuda companies to list on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, the Malaysia stock exchange.
