Deutsche Bank has seen a surge in its custodial services across Asia in 2010. Average assets under custody have increased 100% since last year, according to Thibaud de Maintenant, APAC head of domestic custody services, with Malaysia and Taiwan markets rising more than 200%. “We expect demand for post-trade compliance information services to increase, not just in 2H 2010 but further into the future,” says de Maintenant, with updates to funds-related regulations and asset managers’ greater fiduciary responsibility to investors being key drivers, particularly in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Vietnam. “What we’ve done is analyse the requirements and then invest to improve our system reporting flexibility. We have also added IT developer resources and revised our processes across the region.”
