Threadneedle Asset Management has hired Nicholas Robin, who joins from J.P.Morgan to co-manage the firm’s recently launched Ucits-compliant Enhanced Commodities Fund. Speaking about his new position, Robin says: “I was attracted to the role by the challenge of trading commodities in both absolute return and long-only formats.” The fund’s investment philosophy is geared towards generating significant outperformance relative to passive commodity investment. Regarding its growth potential, Robin adds: “We envisage AUM will be in the hundreds of millions within 12 months and successful annualised returns to outperform by greater than 6%.”
