Hoare Capital Markets, the independent agency broker and financial training provider, has hired two people with experience and contacts in both European and emerging markets.

Gianluca Lesina will join the fixed income team and has 13 years of experience in the field of structured products across different asset classes.

He started his career pricing and trading Index-linked notes and swaps (both fixed income and equity), before moving onto the sales side, focusing mainly on the Italian market.

He has worked for Credit Lyonnais, Credit Suisse and Bear Stearns where he ran the Italian desk for equity structured products.

His contacts include insurance companies, banks, asset managers and pension funds. More recently he was at Macquarie Bank, responsible for the development of absolute return strategies to European institutional investors.

Isabel Lopes-White also joins the fixed income team from Standard Bank and has been involved in capital markets for 12 years, concentrating on different areas of fixed income.

Her expertise covers emerging markets, sub-investment grade and investment grade bonds. Her contacts focus on Swiss and other continental accounts, including asset managers, insurance funds and private banks.

She has also previously worked at Unicredito and BB Securities.

Nicholas Hoare, founding senior partner at Hoare Capital, says: “We are pleased to have such experienced individuals joining our team. Their specialist knowledge of both European and emerging markets will help Hoare Capital to continue expanding its presence in these areas. Hoare Capital has achieved strong growth since operations commenced in 2009 demonstrating our ability to grow the business despite the recent financial crisis.”
