US banking giant J.P.Morgan has rolled out a new multi-strategy newcits fund, following its soft launch last month. Named the Alternative Series Multi-Strategy 10 UCITS Fund, it seeks to offer absolute returns by giving investors exposure to 26 investment strategies across multiple asset classes, which make up the bank’s Alternative Index Multi-Strategy 10. The fund utilizes three strategies – momentum, carry and satellite – to target positions in assets ranging from equities and interest rates, to foreign exchange and commodities. A rigorous risk-weighted framework will attempt to keep the fund’s maximum volatility to 10 per cent. The fund is domiciled in Dublin and provides investors with daily liquidity. Rui Fernandes, Head of Equities and Fund-Linked Derivatives structuring at J.P.Morgan was unavailable to comment at the time of writing, but was quoted in the bank’s press release as saying: “Institutional investor demand for liquid and transparent alternative investments has been significant. The launch of the UCITS fund will broaden the offering to the investor base.”
